Senior Business Application Developer

We currently have two openings for a Senior Business Application Developer.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of all aspects of systems within the area he/she is assigned, including the interrelationships and interfaces of these systems on other systems. Using acquired knowledge of programming languages, systems analysis and design techniques, and works closely with the manager and senior systems personnel to determine the basic objectives to be attained in the implementation of new systems or modifications of existing systems.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of programming languages, software, hardware, and operating systems in use at MDR. Design, codes, and test systems, programs, and modules as assigned. Recommend best method of satisfying development and maintenance requests, considering the scope of effort, availability of data, timeliness, developmental and ongoing costs, type of equipment, external software or services, manpower resources, and other workload.
- Prepares system definitions in such depth as is necessary for programming phases to begin. Prepare the most complex program or module definitions, design files, recommend file/database organizations, and select access methodology.
- Prepare complete documentation packages of systems, procedures, programs, modules, files and databases. Work closely with user departments, senior systems personnel, and computer operations to ensure thorough understanding of capabilities, functions, and documentation. As, directed, assist in training, guidance and monitoring of other staff members. Function in a lead capacity within a project team environment and, as directed as an ad hoc project leader. Develop and participate in presentations of new systems to company personnel.
- Code programs or modules of any level of complexity with limited or no technical support. Modify existing programs or modules of any level or complexity. Assist users in defining business applications. Recommend development, applications, and procedures to meet MDR's business needs.
Qualifications include:
- Knowledge expert with software architecture and the design of multi-tiered applications.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience developing user-friendly systems.
- 7-9 years of programming experience.
- 3-5 years business experience using Microsoft .NET framework or 5+ years of web development experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with XML/XSLT.
- Knowledge expert (a minimum of 3+ years) with SQL and relational database systems especially MS-SQL/T-SQL. A minimum of 3-5 years of strong work experience with data migration tools especially Microsoft SQL Server DTS and SSIS.
- Computer Science Degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
